I got inspired to make this Shea Butter Treatment Stick after having walked 18 miles and upon finishing, my legs were hurting. Not having had anything with me besides Lavender Oil (which I put on my blister ever 2 hours to prevent it from breaking and getting infected), I thought for my next walk, this Shea Butter Treatment Stick is a great way to carry relief for tired muscles or sprains with me in my pocket.

I used very few ingredients for the first batch. Melt the beeswax in the jojoba oil over a water bath. When the beeswax is melted, reduce the temperature slightly and add the shea butter.

  • 0.5 oz Beeswax: anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and heals wounds
  • 0.75 oz Shea Butter: moisture spending; it is also anti-inflammatory and great for sprains, and
  • 0.75 oz Jojoba Oil: penetrates quickly into the skin and rejuvenates the skin.

Once everything was melted, I added the following essential oils (add as many drops as you want) that soothes muscle pains and sprains:

  • Peppermint (YL) is great for tired muscles and legs and a wonderful pain reliever.
  • Roman Chamomile (YL) is antispasmodic and soothes the nerves.
  • Rosemary (YL) stimulates the circulation and has anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Verbena is also an anti-inflammatory oil and is good for the neuromuscular system.

I filled it in 1 oz deodorant sticks. This Shea Butter Treatment Stick feels wonderfully moisturizing, does not leave an oily feeling on your skin,
